Noryl PPO (Polyphenylene Oxide) Sheet & Rod: Properties & Supply

Noryl PPO Sheet and Noryl PPO Rod

Noryl® PPO material is used frequently in fluid handling applications due to the very low moisture absorption.

Noryl PPO is similar to Acetal and P.E.T. but carries a better UL rating.

Noryl PPO rods and sheets are in stock and available in a number of sizes in black. It is great for electrical applications requiring high die-electric strength and is a trade name of Sabic Plastics (formerly GE Plastics).

Noryl PPO is a High Tech Performance Plastic.

Why you should use Sabic Noryl®:

  • It has excellent electrical properties
  • It has excellent Fire Retardant Rating
  • Has extremely low water absorption
  • It is vacuum formable, machinable and bondable
  • Has good temperature resistance
  • Readily available in Sheet or Rod
  • Material is ITAR compliant, and it is RoHS compliant

Noryl PPO Machined Nozzle

Noryl PPO is frequently used in Fluid Handling, Pump and Valve (for low moisture parts), Electrical Housings, Cases and Components, Instrumentation and Semiconductor Components, High Continuous Temperature Environments (185 degrees F ; 265 degrees F), and Flame Retardant Parts Needing UL-94 V-1 (at .058″ thickness). This material is a strong engineering plastic with excellent mechanical, thermal and electrical properties, very low moisture absorption, and low thermal expansion. Noryl PPO also retains most of its flexural and tensile strength as well as its resistance to creep at elevated temperatures.
