Noryl

PPO – Modified PolyPhenyleneOxide

Stocked as Noryl Rod and Noryl Sheet

Black Noryl PPO water nozzle

This material is used frequently in fluid handling applications due to the very low moisture absorption. Noryl is similar to Acetal and PET but carries a better UL rating. Noryl Rods and Noryl Sheets are available from stock. It is great for electrical applications requiring high dielectric strength. This is a trade name of Sabic Plastics (formerly GE Plastics).

Still not sure Noryl – PPO is the proper material for your application, consult our free Plastic Materials Selection Guide.

Why you should use Noryl:

  • it has Excellent Electrical Properties
  • has Excellent Fire Retardant Rating
  • has Extremely Low Water Absorption
  • is Vacuum Formable, Machinable and Bondable
  • has Good Temperature Resistance
  • readily available in Sheet or Rod

This material is…a strong engineering plastics with excellent mechanical, thermal and electrical properties. On of the lowest moisture absorption materials, with very low thermal expansion.

  • Excellent Machining To Tight Tolerances
  • Very Low Moisture Absorption
  • Dimensionally stable and Low Thermal Expansion
  • High Continuous Temperature – 185 degrees F ; 265 degrees F
